Regional Flap

A reconstructive procedure often used to repair a surgical defect caused by ablative surgery. While there are surgical techniques, such as the microvascular flap, that must be performed at specialized centers, the regional flap technique is not as complicated and does not necessitate a specialized center. Regional flap involves the use of regional or nearby tissue to replace and repair the missing tissue in the part of the body with the surgical defect. It does not require any removal and repositioning in the body, and the vascular supply is maintained throughout the transfer.
